Care organization Ambiq has been placed under stricter supervision by the Health Care and Youth Inspectorate (IGJ). The Hengelo organization has several branches in Drenthe. According to the inspection, too little progress has been made since the previous check with measures such as closed doors, agreements on the group and the use of the mobile phone. That writes RTV East.

In April 2024, the Ambiq Inspectorate visited to assess whether the organization meets the legal standards. The IGJ concluded that Ambiq must implement improvements on three of the eight standards. The biggest point of criticism was that the care provider should not assert measures to everyone, but should offer customization.

For example, doors of groups are too often closed, while this is not necessary. The inspection also expects that the quiet space, which, according to the inspection service, looks like a separation room, will be avoided as much as possible.

The Hengelo Care Organization, with several branches in Hoogeveen, Assen and Emmen, has drawn up an improvement plan on this and started implementation. During a repeat visit in May of this year, the inspection service found that there is progress, but not fast enough. The organization was subsequently set under stricter supervision until January 31, 2026.
