The need for care is growing, but the number of people working in it is not. The solution, Minister Ernst Kuipers constantly emphasizes, is to organize the sector in a smarter way. The result is concentration and therefore the relocation of care, just as the pediatric heart surgery in the UMCG is hanging over your head. Kuipers believes that this should not be done too emotionally: “Abroad they laugh straight in our face.”
