Caravan taken off the roof at the newlyweds’ newlyweds: ‘I’m going to miss him’

As a newlyweds, Mark and Nathalie thought they would come home quietly after their wedding on Saturday. Nothing was further from the truth: friends had mounted a caravan on the roof of their house in Veldhoven. The caravan was removed from the roof on Tuesday. “We’re going to miss him,” laughs Mark.

He doesn’t mean that at all seriously. “Yeah well, will I really miss it? I don’t know. But our wedding got a lot of attention because of it. So we thought it was a nice promotion.”

The caravan was there for a reason. On the front, friends of the couple had written the text ‘After meowing about getting married, no more whining about renovating’, a reference to the dormer window that the couple may (or may not) want to have installed.

“This will be all right!”

Everyone could laugh about it, says Mark. “But then the removal also has to go well,” says the young husband while he stares wistfully at the crane that lifts the caravan from the roof.

Getting the caravan down, Mark had to arrange that himself. But Mark can laugh about it and so can his wife Nathalie.

“This is going to be all right,” she says with a laugh. Well, it is quite intense, such a caravan on the roof. “But I never worried about that caravan, you know. Not even after that. I thought it was super funny from the first moment.”

“The caravan was allowed to stay for a while.”

The municipality of Veldhoven was also slightly less happy with the caravan on the roof. That could lead to an unsafe situation. “Someone from the municipality came to have a look. But because the wind wasn’t that strong, the caravan was allowed to stay for a while”, Mark concludes.

Omroep Brabant was there when the caravan was put on the roof:
