A car overturned last night in an accident on the A9 near Amstelveen. As far as is known, no other road users were involved. The motorist was injured and taken to hospital.
Photos of the aftermath of the accident show that the motorist first hit a concrete wall on the bypass. That wall is right next to the right lane: the bypass has no emergency lanes. The driver was taken to hospital and was reportedly injured but stable.
Two of the three lanes towards the A2 were closed for about an hour due to emergency assistance. As a result, other traffic only had one lane available.
