A motorist crashed off the Midden-Brabantweg in Kaatsheuvel early on Tuesday morning. The driver crashed into a lamppost and traffic sign and came to a stop a little further. When police arrived, the driver was nowhere to be found.
Officers found a badly damaged car with a lamppost wrapped around it. Rijkswaterstaat also arrived on site. They had closed the Kaatsheuvel exit at Efteling and a bus lane so that emergency services could do their work safely.
The car was recovered by a towing company. The damaged lamppost will be repaired by Rijkswaterstaat. In addition, a specialist will come by to repair the power cables and make them safe.
