A car drove into the water near Meppel at the beginning of the night. The driver was able to get out of the car himself.
Just after noon something went wrong at a roundabout on the Rijksomweg, near the Pijlebrug carpooling station. The car ended up upside down in a ditch. Photos show that the windshield is full of cracks.
It is not known exactly what preceded the splash. A tree may have been hit first. The police are conducting further investigation. A tow truck pulled the vehicle onto the side.
