Serious accident early Sunday morning on the Kudamm!
At around 2:45 a.m., a VW ID4 belonging to a car sharing provider crashed into an articulated bus on the magnificent boulevard. The impact was so severe that the bus’s 200-liter diesel tank leaked and the fuel spread across the road.
The driver was slightly injured. He refused a voluntary on-site alcohol test and was taken to the hospital to have a blood sample taken. The driver of the bus, who was working on the rail replacement service, was uninjured. There were no passengers on board.
The fire brigade scattered numerous bags of oil binding agent on the road near Adenauerplatz to bind the diesel. Berliner Wasserbetriebe was able to prevent the fuel from entering the sewage system.
The car is a total loss and the bus was towed to a workshop.
