A car crashed into a group of people at an event in Nunspeet on Monday evening. At least nine people were injured, a police spokesperson said. Three of them are said to be in serious condition. According to the police, there appears to be “no intent at all” for the time being, although this is still being investigated.

The incident took place on Elburgerweg. There was according to that RTL News at that moment a parade of lights was going on. A spokesperson for the North and East Gelderland Safety Region confirms that an event took place this evening, but cannot say how many people were present.

Due to the scale of the incident, a Coordinated Regional Incident Response Procedure (GRIP) has been issued, which means that a crisis team with officials from the fire brigade, police and ambulance service meets on location. Two air ambulances have been called.
