Cannes jewels, the most fabulous in the history of the Festival

The importance of the event justifies the exceptional nature of the jewels. There were several twists (and light) that took turns in the very long course of the film event. Today, like yesterday, the major trend of the Côte d’Azur in terms of jewelry is that of amaze. Just think of the collier Van Cleef and Arpels worn by Sophia Loren in the 1966even now notable even in black and white photos.

The necklaces are the most photographed pieces in the history of Cannes, capable of capturing the eye of the public and photographers and embellishing even the simplest of clothes. A few examples of style: the necklace by Claudia Schiffer at the 64th Festival, in 2011, entirely made of diamonds (700, to be precise) and signed Chanel Haute Joailleriewhich responds to the name of Camélia Poudré. But also the one placed on the simple powder pink slip dress signed Alexandre Vauthier da Emily Ratajkowski in Cannes 2017: the maxi necklace by Bulgarians High Jewelery, in pink gold, pearls, diamonds and rubellites, worn in a layering key on the Heritage Collection necklace in yellow gold, emeralds, rubies and diamonds.

Priceless vintage jewelry

A vintage piece from 1969: and in fact at the Cannes Film Festival the dusting off of yesteryear precious items. Just think of the clamor aroused by the pendant sported by Jessica Chastain at the 66th edition of the Festival in 2013a piece that belonged to none other than to Elizabeth Taylor. The sautoir made of platinum, diamonds and central sapphire also dating back to 1969, also signed by Bulgari, given to her in 1972 by her then husband Richard Burton for her 40th birthday and unlined by the diva on the red carpet of the makeover, 50 years later, of Cleopatra.

But also to the iconic necklace with crocodiles around the neck of Monica Bellucci at the 59th edition of the Festival in 2006: a piece Cartier commissioned by the actress María Félix around 1975. Two detachable brooches of, respectively, 60.02 and 66.86 carats, in fancy yellow diamonds and emeralds. TO Eva Herzigova in 2012 the honor of wearing the Marilyn Monroe Tribute Set of the collection Red Carpet from Chopard, composed of an 18k white gold necklace with diamonds and matching earrings.

Not just collier: the most original jewels of Cannes

The rose gold earrings by Lorraine Schwartz sprinkled with diamonds, with 25-carat hanging rubies, worn by Blake Lively at the 67th Festival in 2014. As well as the diamond bangle of Harry Winston sported by Nicole Kidman in 2014. The most original jewels ever? The back necklace by Cara Delevingne signed De Grisogono at the 67th edition of the Cannes Film Festival in 2014distinguished by a precious monkey holding a 28.66-carat sapphire.
