At the Pietarsaari Open Air event, first the performers were canceled and finally the entire event, when it should have already started.
There was a queue outside the Pietarsaari Open Air event when the gates had to open. In the end, the whole event was cancelled. Esa Olli
The cancellation of the Pietarsaari Open Air event caused upset among ticket buyers. Iltalehti caught up with one visitor who had time to queue at the gate for a long time until he and his party were disappointed.
Esa Olli arrived at the event in Pietarsaari with a good mood. He had bought two VIP tickets for the Open Air event, the total value of which was 300 euros. What he was most looking forward to was Uriah Heep’s performance, for which he arrived with his entourage.
– We waited in line for an hour and a half. In fact, at first we didn’t notice that there was a Facebook message about being late. Lippu.fi announced that the gates will open later, Olli says.
After the original schedule changed due to a technical glitch, the gates were said to open at five. According to Olli, this did not happen. After six, the information came that the whole event has been canceled and not just delayed.
– Time passed and people started to come out of the gates. The cancellation of the event was announced on Facebook. Then another text message came from the ticket office.
Olli found out about the cancellation of the event only from a message from the ticketing service, because the audience waiting at the venue was not told about the cancellation. People still had time to wait until the orderlies started to walk the long line and tell about the situation.
Esa thanks the law enforcement officers who handled the situation honorably. He would have liked to see a similar backbone from the organizers in communicating the cancellation. Esa Olli
Poorly maintained
According to Olli, the public was not informed enough about the delays and the situation in general. The queuers only knew that there were technical problems with the event.
The real reason only became clear afterwards. According to him, the information had to be fished out yourself.
– The situation was not handled well. Reasonably incomprehensible reason why the stage technique doesn’t work. Surely it has been tested. I cannot understand such a reason, he updates the activities of the organizers.
– Yes, it was a lot of fun. We were wondering if we should go to Kuopio rock to see Stratovarius or Uriah Heep in Pietarsaari and we came here.
Even though the 300 euro tickets went to waste and they didn’t see the expected artist, the evening ended happily. At the hotel, Olli and his companions ran into the members of Uriah Heep and got to talk with them.
Nevertheless, the poor organization and the flow of information confuse the visitor. Olli is not the only one who is upset by the poor communication at the event. Several ticket buyers vented their disappointment on the Open Air event’s Facebook post, where the organizers announced the cancellation.
– The minimum requirement for the organizer would be that someone would have been able to inform all those waiting in line for a long time about this matter. Now the queue stretched a couple of hundred meters all the way to the swimming hall. It wouldn’t have taken much. Unbelievable!
– Well, we came here all the way from Loviisa. Who pays the travel expenses?
– Unbelievable tinkering!
– You simply can’t believe this to be true, that the performance stage can’t be fixed. Absolutely miserable arrangements. Unforgivable. In the same way, information cannot be worse. Money back and fast.
– Miserable business.
– Not the fault of Pietarsaari, but the fault of the organizer’s subcontractor.
