Canada Goose launches first sneaker

The sneakers are part of the brand’s strategic growth plan to expand into new categories that “meet the needs of modern explorers” to be “relevant all year round” as a lifestyle label.

The Glacier Trail sneakers are described as a “sophisticated design” that draws on Canada Gooses’ heritage of functionality and performance while being “ultra-versatile, multi-seasonal and innovative,” the brand said Thursday.

Canada Goose also wants the sneakers to meet the demands of today’s consumers who are looking for “style, comfort, protection and stability”. The shoes are equipped with a breathable waterproof HDry membrane and a 100% breathable microfiber insole with temperature regulating properties to keep the foot dry and comfortable.

The upper is made of rubberized leather to protect against the elements, a durable rubber sole and a supportive 360-degree lacing system. An additional zipper on the high-top model offers maximum comfort.

The Glacier Trials also features a multi-dimensional profile and pronounced heel inspired by the maple leaf from the brand’s disc logo. This feature extends ground contact and provides more grip and stability.

The models will be available in Canada Goose stores and online from July 18th. The Glacier sneaker with a high shaft is priced at 550 euros, while the model with a low shaft is priced at 450 euros.
