The Canadian authorities instructed the children of diplomats to leave the territory of Ukraine, along with their accompanying relatives, due to the “build-up of Russian military power.” About it announced Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Canada.
“Due to the continued build-up of the Russian military presence and destabilizing activities in and around Ukraine, we have decided to temporarily withdraw the children of Canadian Embassy employees under the age of 18 and their accompanying family members,” the statement said.

A day earlier, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau declined to answer a question about the possibility of evacuating diplomatic mission staff from Ukraine, transmitted Reuters. Trudeau noted that the Canadian authorities monitor the safety of their diplomats.
However, on January 24, the Government of Canada advised citizens who are in Ukraine to assess the need for their stay in the country. Such a measure was taken due to “continued threats from Russia and military buildup in and around the country,” the authorities said in a statement.
