The car wanted to brake at a traffic light on the N9 near Koedijk. Behind it was a camper that was unable to brake in time and crashed hard into the back of the car, a police spokesperson said. Several emergency services arrived on the scene.
The two people in the car were taken to hospital. The occupants of the camper were checked on site and did not have to be taken to hospital.
However, both vehicles were so damaged that they could not continue driving, causing the road to be temporarily closed. Both vehicles have been towed away and the road is now open again.
