The National Security Council (NVR) and the Ministerial Committee on Crisis Management (MCCB) gathered on Sunday 22 June to discuss the situation in the Middle East.

Given the deteriorated situation in the Middle East, the MCCB, a consultation of the most involved ministers, has decided that Dutch travelers who can get his help in Israel can get help with leaving the country. Buses are used for this group so that they can travel to the Netherlands with a commercial flight through Egypt. This help is intended for stranded Dutch people in Israel who live in the Netherlands and their nuclear family members, provided they also live in the Netherlands.

For stranded Dutch people in Iran and Iraq, the exit options are limited due to the safety situation. Stranded Dutch travelers in these countries are advised to travel independently to safer neighboring countries. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs helps them with advice and provides consular assistance where necessary.
