Muscle fiber tear in BVB attacker
Karim Adeyemi is not available for Borussia Dortmund for the time being. The 21-year-old had to be substituted after just 35 minutes in the 4-1 win against Hertha BSC on Saturday. As BVB announced on Monday, the attacker was diagnosed with a torn muscle fiber. The downtime is expected to be around three weeks.
As a result, Adeyemi would not only miss the Bundesliga duels with Hoffenheim, Leipzig and probably Schalke, but also the round of 16 second leg in the Champions League at Chelsea. “Of course it doesn’t look good, but let’s wait and see. We hope it won’t be too long before he comes back,” coach Edin Terzic said on “DAZN” after the Berlin game. Adeyemi was in good form after the World Cup interruption, six of his nine goals in the current season came into play in the new year. Five players have more scorers in the BVB squad.
