BVB waives the option to buy Justin Njinmah from Werder Bremen

Justin Njinmah will not be signed after his loan at Borussia Dortmund II, but will return to his regular club Werder Bremen. As Clemens Fritz, license player manager of the Hanseatic city, the portal “dyke room“, BVB waived the purchase option until the deadline on Monday. Previously, the “Picture“ reported on a corresponding decision. Fritz said, however, that Njinmah was “firmly planned for the new season” in Bremen’s professional squad.

According to the “Bild”, the reason for Dortmund’s waiver was above all the amount of the option. In the reports of the past few weeks, the sum has always been placed at one million euros, which is only slightly above the market value of Njinmah (700,000 euros). According to the newspaper, the second in the Bundesliga would have had to pay 3 million euros. Although those responsible for BVB are said to have been satisfied with the development of the right foot, there is talk of other plans on the offensive.

For Njinmah, the return to Bremen offers a greater chance of playing time in the Bundesliga. Although he made his debut in the Oberhaus on matchday 6 in a 0:3 loss at RB Leipzig due to Borussia’s personnel problems, despite strong performances in the 3rd division, it is not to be expected that the native of Hamburg will play a major role under coach Edin Terzic would receive.
