Do Jadon Sancho and Borussia Dortmund find each other a third time? After “Sky” reported that the black and yellow would again be discussed by the English offensive player by Manchester United, the journalist Julius Schamburg, who works for “Sport1”, followed up and wrote that a new return would be more concrete. The first discussions are also said to have taken place between the Red Devils and the BVB.

Update 1st August, 12:50 p.m.: Coach Niko Kovac did not want to be looked at the cards and said when asked by “Sky” demand that he could “not lead himself to the ice”. He didn’t want to participate. Sports director Sebastian Kehl said: “The (Jadon) is constantly being acted with us. I understand the wish. We are making our thoughts within the scope of our possibilities. The framework conditions must be right. (…) We will definitely do something, but are limited.” According to reports, Sancho would be ready to drop in salary.
“The contact with Jadon is of course always there, in some way, because you have a very long past. But at the moment it is not an issue for us. We have other priorities at the moment and therefore the personnel around Sancho may have been more played in the media than internally,” Kehl explained in a media round in mid -June. In the meantime, the probability of a third liaison between Sancho and the Dortmunders is said to have risen.
After the end of his rental stay at FC Chelsea, Sancho recently returned to his main club in Manchester. There he has no future despite a contract that is valid until 2026. Finally, the attacker Juventus Turin was considered a possible buyer. The “picture” followed up on Wednesday with its own report and reported that the personnel at Borussia were “discussed”. A transfer would apparently not fail because of Sancho itself because it could very well imagine another commitment to the Bundesliga club. In the sporting leadership, however, there should be ambiguity as to whether the Sancho map should actually be used. Sports boss Lars Ricken, coach Niko Kovac and sports director Kehl are probably undecided because they prefer to pursue other players. Sancho is a candidate, but only one of several and not at the top of the list. This is to be heard for a transfer fee between 15 million and 20 million euros.
According to the “Bild”, there are critical voices in Dortmund, which would consider another Sancho comeback as a poverty in ideas-combined with the question of whether those responsible would lose the creativity on the transfer market. However, coach Kovac should play a crucial role at Sancho because the Croatian is granted a high say in newcomers. Then it is also about internal doubts and the associated question of whether Sancho would fit in Kovac’s system at all. Sancho’s market value has rushed into the basement since BVB party
The BVB had paid the equivalent of EUR 7.84 million for the 23-fold English international when he was 17 years old. With Sancho’s 85 million euros in transfer to Man United and a participation in resale, the total in 2021 increased to EUR 20.6 million. At his rental station Chelsea, he contributed five goals and ten templates in 41 games last season. Since the blues did not pay him further, the market value still fell in the Juni update by 2 million to EUR 28 million. In the spring of 2020, when Sancho walked through the ceiling at BVB, he was estimated at his top value of 130 million euros. Already on a loan, he had spent the second half of 2023/24 at his former place of work and delivered six goal involvement in 21 matches.
