A logistical problem at Manchester airport apparently slowed down Borussia Dortmund after their defeat in the Champions League against City (1:4). As the “Bild” newspaper reports, there were significant delays in departure due to a lack of staff.
The team was originally scheduled to land at Dortmund Airport on Thursday afternoon around 2 p.m. Instead, the plane arrived almost three hours late at 4:51 p.m., it is said. The reason was probably a lack of ground staff in Manchester, which led to problems with baggage handling.
The plane could therefore not take off as planned. The crew was stuck on the tarmac for more than two hours before the plane took off. According to the report, coach Niko Kovač decided to cancel the training session scheduled for Thursday given the late return.
