BVB star Haller gains self-confidence in the national uniform

Borussia Dortmund striker Sébastien Haller has given the Ivory Coast national football team a boost of self-confidence.

The 29-year-old, currently only a substitute at BVB and without a league goal, scored the interim opening goal (45th + 3) in the Ivorian team’s 1-1 (1-0) draw against fourth-placed Morocco in the World Cup on Saturday.

Shortly after Haller’s substitution in the 78th minute, the North Africans equalized through Ayoub El Kaabi (81st).

Haller is still looking for the form from last season in Dortmund, when he impressed with nine goals in 19 games after his return from testicular cancer. Since the signing of national striker Niclas Füllkrug, Haller has only been a joker.
