BVB separates from sports coordinator Stanic – dispute over Terzic?

Came on Kehl’s recommendation

Borussia Dortmund and its sports coordinator Slaven Stanic are going their separate ways. As the black and yellow announced, the collaboration was ended by mutual agreement. There was no mention of disputes in the club’s official statement, as media reports suggested.

“Slaven Stanic moved to us in the summer with a large football network and a lot of experience in different areas of professional sport. However, intensive discussions over the past few days have led to us mutually deciding to go our separate ways from now on. We part on good terms and wish Slaven only the best for his private and professional future,” explained BVB sports director Sebastian Kehl.

Stanic said: “From day one, my goal was to use my skills and knowledge profitably for Borussia Dortmund. After recent developments, I am no longer 100 percent convinced that I can still deliver this added value. Integrity, respect and trust are valuable to me. I wish Hans-Joachim Watzke, Sebastian Kehl, the coaching team, the team and the entire BVB family all the best for the current season and for the future.”

According to reports, Stanic was criticized by the club’s management. The former second division professional is said to have harshly criticized coach Edin Terzic in a box at the Dortmund stadium at the beginning of October after the final whistle of the Champions League home game against AC Milan (0-0). A question to Terzic about Stanic was not allowed in a Dortmund press conference on Tuesday with reference to the upcoming DFB Cup game in Stuttgart. Stanic was hired on Kehl’s recommendation and was supposed to be an interface between those in charge and the team.
