BVB out of the race? Manchester United step on the gas at David Raum

1899 Hoffenheim’s David Raum has been linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund for weeks. But in poker for the national player, BVB is apparently threatened with a defeat.

As “sky“reported, Manchester United is serious about courting David Raum. “Manchester United is pushing,” said reporter Florian Plettenberg in the format “Transfer Update – The Show.” Accordingly, a move to the Red Devils could actually work.

Hoffenheim and United are still a long way from an agreement. However, the first talks between Raum’s advisors and those responsible for the English record champions have already taken place, according to the TV broadcaster.

According to the report, the courted left-back can certainly imagine a move to Manchester.

Nevertheless, Borussia Dortmund is still not without a chance. According to “Sky”, Raum’s management would like to place its client with the Revierklub. The black and yellow are a “very interesting address” because of the many newcomers.

Is David Raum too expensive for BVB?

Nevertheless, it is questionable whether BVB can or wants to afford a space transfer. There is an exit clause of allegedly 30 million euros in Raum’s contract in Hoffenheim, which runs until 2026.

According to “kicker”, this will only take effect from the summer of 2023. In the current changeover period, the compensation payment for the Kraichgauer would therefore be freely negotiable. The trade magazine speculates that Hoffenheim would only be willing to talk with offers of more than 40 million euros. But Dortmund will certainly not want to pay that much.

In order to be able to seriously start courting for space, BVB would first have to get rid of players from the club’s internal strike list – in particular left-back Nico Schulz and Raphael Guerreiro, who are said to be both up for sale.
