The rumor, which surfaced elsewhere a while ago, has been discussed in the TM community since the fall of last year. The Dane is a year shorter in Italy, until 2024, tied than Álvarez at Ajax, while his €15m market value is less than half that of the Mexican.

Like Álvarez before him, Hjulmand is being talked about as a potential successor to Jude Bellingham (19), which is viewed critically in the TM community. “marius654321” writes in the rumor mill: “Hjulmand is a strong 6-man, but I don’t see him offensively ready to succeed Bellingham. Defensively he is an absolute top solution. If he’s an Álvarez alternative, okay, but I don’t see him as an 8-man. His offensive output is simply too weak. (…) Don’t hope that Bellingham will be caught with two defensive 6s. Mentality and big winners with all due respect, but you need a good mix of big winners and creative people.”

“Flessa” agrees: “Neither Hjulmand nor Álvarez are such a replacement. Both would eventually replace Can or Özcan. Both have absolutely nothing to do with a successor to Jude. In any case, Hjulmand would be a very exciting option for us in the DM. I would even prefer him over Álvarez because of the price.”

I would get both him and Alvarez and try to sell Özcan. I don’t know what added value it should bring us. …

Álvarez demand for BVB too high? Hjulmand’s market value has also increased

The “Bild” meanwhile considers a transfer from Álvarez to be shaky anyway because of the required sum. Ajax’s claim of around EUR 45 million is assumed, while according to “Sky” information there was even talk of up to EUR 50 million. According to the latest reports from the Netherlands and Germany, BVB have sent an initial offer to Amsterdam based on the player’s market value of EUR 35 million.

A transfer fee of 20 million euros was circulated for Hjulmand by Lecce last year. In the meantime, the short-term remaining contract could depress the price, although the market value of Hjulmand was only just further increased in the market value update in Italy.
