BVB: Haaland secret meeting in France revealed

BVB striker Erling Haaland uses the short break not only for rehabilitation measures, but apparently also to advance his future planning. During the week the Norwegian went to France.

As the “Ruhr news” report, Erling Haaland was spotted at Dortmund Airport on Friday afternoon. Together with his father Alf-Inge and a family friend, he got out of a private jet that was at Nice Airport a few hours earlier. According to the newspaper, the Norwegian is said to be under of the week with his agent Mino Raiola, who resides in the Principality of Monaco.

Together with his closest environment, the player continues to plan his future. The 21-year-old recently drew attention to himself with a clear interview after the Freiburg game, in which he complained that BVB was putting pressure on him to make a decision quickly. Those responsible for the black and yellow then tried to deny disputes with the striker.

Haaland recently spoke again to the Norwegian platform “Viaplay”. “I don’t want to go into detail. For me it was just about time to say something. A lot of people have spoken about me, but everything has been said for me,” said the striker.

BVB wants clarity in the Haaland cause

BVB still needs clarity as to whether Haaland will draw his exit clause or plan to stay. The search for a successor should the Norwegian leave the club, the Dortmund want to complete early.

But it threatens to become a stalemate, reports the “Ruhr Nachrichten”. A decision by Haaland should last “at least until February”. If the meeting during the week did not produce any clear trends, it could still take until the clause’s deadline. The exact date is not known.

Haaland, which is owned by several top clubs in Europe, is likely to be a costly package for those interested. In addition to a transfer fee of around 75 million euros and an estimated salary of around 20 million euros, signing bonuses are likely to drive the cost of a five-year contract in the region of 200 million euros.

It will be a while before Haaland can make sporting headlines again. The game against Bayer Leverkusen on February 6 is said to come too soon for the ailing striker. Shortly after landing on Friday, he was back on the training ground in Brackel.
