The central defender, whose contract in Freiburg ends on June 30, 2023, is associated with the top German clubs FC Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, among others, and Real Madrid is also repeatedly mentioned as an interested party. “I feel like I’m in the media every week and I don’t want that at all. That actually distracts,” said Schlotterbeck, who is the most valuable professional in the Breisgau team with a market value of 20 million euros and is therefore one of the most valuable defenders in the Bundesliga with his contract ending in 2023. “No player is bigger than the club.”
