Eight goal spectacles in the Champions League
BVB gave away victory in three minutes

At the start of the new Champions League season, the top game at Juventus was on the schedule for BVB. The Dortmund looked like the safe winner – and then gave away the victory.
Borussia Dortmund started the new season of the Champions League with a spectacle, but has played a victory that was already believed to be safe shortly before the end. The BVB separated from Juventus in Turin on Tuesday evening in Turin. All hits were scored in the second half.
Karim Adeyemi got the lead after 53 minutes. Then a wild phase started with three goals within a very short time. Kenan Yildiz initially equalized for Juventus (64th). Felix Nmecha struck back (65th) before Dušan Vlahović shot into 2-2 (68.). But then Yan Couto brought BVB to the front (74th) for the third time that evening. Ramy Bensebaini brought about the felt decision (86.). Vlahović then shortened again for Juventus (90. + 4) before Lloyd Kelly put BVB in shock at the last second (90. +6).
“The competition is so big in this competition, it is important that we start well,” said BVB coach Niko Kovač before the game at Amazon Prime Video. However, Juve had the first chance. Khéphren Thuram’s spacer shot was deflected by Felix Nmecha and BVB keeper Gregor Kobel had to show his entire class to scratch the ball from the corner (4th).
In the evening, even warm temperatures in Piedmont, a torn game developed. The Dortmunders initially worked out significantly more possession, but made numerous playback errors in the game forward. At the end the BVB didn’t come at all. It was characteristic of an attempt by Adeyemi that flew towards the corner flag rather than towards the gate.
Maybe because Borussia did not really demand the Juve defense, the hosts went on the offensive. The team of coach Igor Tudor showed partly handsome ball relays on the way forward and took out a few corners. However, Kobel was no longer really challenged. A shot from the former Leipzig Loïs Openda did not pose problems for the Swiss.
Openda also belonged to the first scene of the second round. A remarkable fall back in the Dortmund penalty area brought the Belgian applause. However, a gate would not have counted because of an offside position.
Shortly afterwards the BVB struck. Guirassy played for Adeyemi, the 23-year-old presented the ball and then shot precisely from shortly before the penalty area. Euphorically, he could celebrate the fan curve in front of the Dortmund. Previously, Maximilian Beier from a very pointed angle had failed on the post (51.).
