With a market value of 35 million euros, Donyell Malen is one of the five most valuable players at Borussia Dortmund. The 24-year-old winger is on the offensive and has a contract until June 30, 2026. However, the Dutchman’s future is not secured.

According to the report, a transfer fee of at least 30 million euros is required – exactly the amount that was paid to PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2021 and less than the current market value. The 28-time national player made 91 appearances for BVB, scoring 24 goals and 16 assists.

Managing director Hans-Joachim Watzke only stated on Sunday that major departures were not to be expected in January. In principle, however, “for economic reasons you definitely have to make a larger transfer every now and then.” In September it was reported that Liverpool FC was interested in Malen; at that time there was still talk of a pain threshold of 60 million euros.
