Dortmund’s Svensson had to get off the pitch in the game against Lille. After the final whistle, his trainer analyzed the previous foul-different from the referee team.
Borussia Dortmund’s 1-1 in the Champions League against the OSC Lille was anything but a footballing treat. Instead of spectacular dribbling and dream gates, tactical discipline dominated and a somewhat harder gait.
Just like in the 81st minute when Lilles Routinier André Gomes caught his young Dortmund opponent Daniel Svensson from behind with his left foot on his left hoe. Svensson was then treated on the square and replaced two minutes later. It was initially unclear whether Svensson threatens a longer failure. Investigations should provide information about this.
A red card for Gomes was in the room, but after VAR check it continued-without a card. BVB coach Niko Kovač did not quite agree. “I just looked at it again on TV. Of course very unfortunate, totally unintentionally unintentionally,” the football teacher stated at Amazon Prime Video and then pushed after: “But he’s already above the ankle.”
From the Achilles tendon the Portuguese pulls one foot down to Svensons ankle. Kovač’s final judgment: “In my opinion, that’s a red card.” However, the coach did not get too much out of the frame that the game did not occur.
He put it very calmly: “We did it very well in the first half, but also saw that Lille is a very strong team. But we still had the better opportunities.”
After the first of two games, it is now “half-time” and the BVB has a “hard walk” in Lille (from 9 p.m. in the LiveTicker from T-Online from 9 p.m., “said Kovač.
