On the N34 from Emmen towards Zuidlaren, traffic was backed up between Annen and the connection with the A28. Furthermore, the accident on the A28 near Beilen caused extra traffic on, among others, the N381, the Emmen-Drachten road and the N371, the road from Meppel to Assen.
