The intersection of Sontweg with Sontplein in Groningen will be closed for work from Monday 12 to Friday 16 June.
That is a week earlier than planned, because the work on Sontweg, which started on May 30, is going faster than expected.
The Sontweg has been given a different layout from the Europaweg to the Sontplein. Among other things, the left-turn lane has been removed. Soon, motorized traffic will no longer be able to turn left from Sontweg onto Europaweg. This should ensure that it becomes less busy on the driveway to the southern ring road.
The Sontweg will open on Friday at 5 p.m. The intersection with Sontplein will be closed from 07:00 on Monday 12 June to 17:00 on Friday 16 June.
Construction Day
In the context of the Construction Day the three largest construction sites (and the information centre) of Aanpak Ring Zuid will be open to the public on Saturday 17 June from 10 am to 4 pm.
