Simon Fiers, spokesperson for the Ostend police: “There are four lifeguard posts open at the moment. These are the four monitored zones where you are allowed to swim. You are not allowed to swim outside those zones. We ask that people stick to those zones and look carefully at the flags. Our beach police are also present to intervene together with the lifeguards and keep an overview. Unfortunately, lost children are also part of it when the weather is nice.”
There is no supervision yet in De Panne, Middelkerke, Bredene and Zeebrugge and you are not yet allowed to swim in the sea.
