It remains possible to obtain sexual services for a fee in the massage parlor without having to obtain a permit, the municipality has discovered. The mayor has had enough.
New reports after reopening
Last year the massage parlor, like another parlor, was already exposed for illegal prostitution. Then the doors closed for a few months. The owners then went to court.
But after the reopening of the business on Julianaplein last December, there were further reports of offering sexual services without a license, the municipality reports.
To put a stop to this, Mayor Ter Heegde has now decided that the salon must apply for a permit for three years. According to the municipality, this has a few major advantages. This means that the municipality has a bigger say when it comes to who uses the building and under what conditions.
Maleficent entrepreneurs
“The aim is to exclude rogue entrepreneurs and to ensure more supervision, so that safety and quality of life in the center of Bussum improve,” is the explanation.
The current user of the building now has three months to submit a permit application. The massage parlor can still appeal against the mayor’s decision.
