Buse Naz Çakıroğlu secured the bronze medal in the World Women’s Boxing Championship!



National athlete Buse Naz Çakıroğlu, who reached the semi-finals in the 50 kg category at the World Women’s Boxing Championship, hosted by Turkey by the International Boxing Association (IBA), secured the bronze medal.


Olympic runner-up national boxer Buse Naz Çakıroğlu, who came to the ring on the 8th day of the championship held in Başakşehir Youth and Sports Facilities, faced Filipino Aira Cordero Villegas in the quarter-final match.


In the match he started well, the Olympic runner-up national boxer, who won the first round 4-1, finished the second round 5-0. Buse Naz, who kept her opponent away and hit clear punches throughout the match, won the match 5-0 in the last round and made her mark in the semi-finals.


Youth and Sports Minister Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu also watched the match.


Buse Naz Çakıroğlu, who is certain to win the bronze medal, will face Spaniard Laura Fuertes Fernandez in the semi-finals on Wednesday, May 18.
