A brightly blazing car in the middle of an intersection in Berlin-Neukölln caused a stir among eyewitnesses and on social networks on Friday.

In order to extinguish the flames, the fire brigade had to move to the scene of the fire on Hermannstrasse. Fortunately, no one was injured, a fire department spokesman said.

A colleague from the Berliner Morgenpost posted this video of the burning vehicle on Twitter:

It was not immediately clear why the car caught fire. According to the police, however, there were indications of a technical defect.

Due to the closures during the operation, there were traffic delays around the scene.
