Bad surprise, happy ending.

Attempted break-in at cult music producer Jack White (82, “Self Control”). According to BILD information, strangers tried to get into his property in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf on the night of December 16th to 17th.

At the time, the musician was on a skiing holiday in Kitzbühel with his wife Rafaella (38) and son Maximilian (3).

But White was lucky because the house is secured with an alarm system and motion detectors.

The perpetrators are said to have tried to break a window. Has something been stolen? When asked by BILD, the police said: “Colleagues were alerted to a triggered alarm system. It was determined on site that the perpetrator or perpetrators did not enter the property. Apparently they were deterred by the alarm.” White declined to comment when asked.

A family friend told BILD: “Jack and his family immediately flew back home. But Max wanted to learn to ski.”

New trick of the burglar gangs

In Berlin, the gangs of burglars are getting bolder. In Nikolassee and Schlachtensee alone, there have been 50 burglaries in apartments and villas since September, according to the police.

Burglars have had a new trick since December: According to the police, they have already used nitric acid, which decomposes door locks, in 31 cases.

The police warn: The liquid is highly caustic, irritates the respiratory tract, never touch it!
