Football club Actief from Eelde fell victim to burglars last night. A night earlier, burglars were also active in neighboring Haren.
Actief’s maintenance team discovered the burglary this morning. “A window was smashed near the garden doors,” says chairman Gideon Kruisselbrink, who does not yet know whether the perpetrators have also been inside.
Yesterday afternoon, the sports park on the Burgemeester JG Legroweg was the setting for the VV Actief – Nieuw Buinen match. “This is the end of a nice weekend, although we had hoped for a few more points yesterday,” says Kruisselbrink.
The club from Eelde announced the news on social media. The association reports that the perpetrators are clearly identified and that they have 72 hours to report to the club. “Then we can see if we can resolve this properly,” says the chairman. “We recently installed a new camera system, which makes the perpetrators clearly visible in any case.”
Not only Actief was a victim of the burglars’ guild this weekend, VV Haren was also visited. Here too, a fist-sized hole was made in a window, after which the door could be opened from the inside. Just like VV Actief, the club says that the perpetrators can report within 72 hours.
