Status: 05/30/2023 5:59 p.m

As announced, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is a new member of the FC Bayern Munich Supervisory Board. The former CEO was appointed at the regular session of the club’s general assembly.

We are happy to have Karl-Heinz Rummenigge as a member of our Supervisory Board. He is one of the great personalities in the history of our club, everyone knows his merits. His experience, his expertise and his international network will help us enormously so that FC Bayern can continue to be successful in the future“, the chairman of the supervisory board, Herbert Hainer, was quoted as saying in a club announcement.

Hoeneß is also a member of the supervisory board

Rummenigge should be more involved with the German champions after the separation of CEO Oliver Kahn and sports director Hasan Salihamidzic. “I would like to thank the supervisory board for their trust and look forward to supporting FC Bayern in this body in the future. I have had the great fortune and honor of celebrating many successes with this club, which is why I am happy to comply with the request of the supervisory board‘ said Rummenigge.

The now nine-strong Supervisory Board also includes Honorary President Uli Hoeneß. The 71-year-old led the club for a long time together with Rummenigge, who was CEO for almost two decades. The triple wins in 2013 and 2020 fell during his tenure. Two years ago, Rummenigge vacated his post prematurely for successor Kahn.
