For a decade, Norman Theuerkauf was a fixture at 1. FC Heidenheim – now his time ends as a professional. The 38-year-old will end his active career with the course of the current season. The defensive midfielder has been in use for Heidenheim since 2015 and brought it to 274 competitive game operations. Since the 2018/19 season he has been a member of the team council as a vice captain. He had previously played for Eintracht Braunschweig.

Holger Sanwald, CEO of the Bundesliga club, emphasized the importance of the veteran: Theukauf, as one of the longest -serving professionals together with goalkeeper Kevin Müller, had significantly shaped the development of the club. “In addition, his commitment and loyalty were outstanding and exemplary. This was exactly the reason why we wanted to keep ‘Theuu’ in the club,” said Sanwald.
First of all, the battle for the relegation stands for the purchase and Heidenheim. In all likelihood, the team from Ostalb has to go to the relegation of who the opponent becomes, is still unclear.
