Sandro Wagner gets new strikers

Football Bundesliga club FC Augsburg surprisingly hired attacker Elias Saad from league competitor FC St. Pauli. The 25-year-old German-Tunesian signed a contract on Thursday until 2029, according to media reports Saad costs around two million euros.

“We are convinced that he has by no means exhausted his full potential. Elias is technically well-versed and brings dribbling levels, speed and risk of scoring,” said FCA managing director Michael Ströll.

The two -time Tunisian international Saad moved from regional league team Eintracht Norderstedt to St. Pauli in January 2023. Last season he came to three goals in 18 Bundesliga games, but missed many games for an injury.

Borussia Dortmund has secured the services of goalkeeper routiner Patrick Drewes. The 32-year-old moves from Bundesliga relegated VfL Bochum to the Champions League participant, in which he receives a contract until June 30, 2027.

“We are pleased that Patrick will complement our goalkeeper team in the coming years. With Gregor Kobel, Alex Meyer and we are excellent in this position,” said BVB sports director Sebastian Kehl about the newcomer. Drewes bring a lot of experience and lead to “celebrating success together with the boys”.

Drewes played more than 100 second division games in his career and came to 21 Bundesliga missions in the previous season in Bochum. Among other things, in the guest appearance at 1. FC Union Berlin (1-1), where he was hit by a lighter on the head shortly before the end. The incident partly led to heated debates and led to a legal aftermath, in which the game was later considered 2-0 for Bochum.

Fortuna Düsseldorf struck twice on the transfer market on Thursday. First of all, the Fortuna Luca Raimund from VfB Stuttgart signed, in the afternoon the commitment of Anouar El Azzouzi from the Dutch first division club Pec Zwolle followed.

The 20 -year -old offensive player Raimund, who played three Bundesliga games for VfB, is said to cost around 400,000 euros. Fortuna did not provide any information about the contract period. Raimund is the cousin of the German top ski jumper Philipp Raimund.

Former Moroccan junior national player El Azzouzi, who played 33 out of 34 games in the expired Eredivisie season, also changes to Fortuna. Düsseldorf “as usual” also notified anything about the contract term of the defensive midfielder.

Hannover 96 continues at the squad for the coming season and has presented the next new signing: Waniss Taïbi strengthens the midfield of the second division club. The 23-year-old moves from the French second division club AF Rodez to Lower Saxony and is already the eleventh new player this summer.
