Buddy Vedder raises eyebrows with his new role as Caroline Tensen’s sidekick in the TV classic One against 100. We now even see him rapping in the studio. “What is this?”

One against 100 has been running for years on a strong format where viewers know exactly what they are getting. A little innovation can’t hurt, of course, but Buddy Vedder’s new role mainly causes confusion. With strange experiments, craziness in the studio and now even rap moments in between, you can wonder: where is this going?

Rap moment

After a question from Caroline Tensen about rapper Bad Bunny, we saw Buddy approach a candidate with the comment: “We now know that we have a musical field of participants. But a very musical person is sitting next to me, Jessy, because I heard you can rap well. What about that?”

Jessy then: “No, no, no, no. I never said I can do it well. I can do it.”

Buddy: “Okay, you can rap. When did you discover that skill?”

Traffic jams

In a traffic jam, the candidate answers. Her favorite song to rap to? Gangster’s Paradise by Coolio. And that song is then started, after which we hear Buddy and the candidate in question performance show.

Caroline pretends to really enjoy it all and Buddy eventually remarks: “Jessy, you were fantastic. I thought you were incredibly good and with you, traffic jams become a lot more fun!”

Lost your way

TV authority Tina Nijkamp was already critical of the addition of Buddy to this format, but thinks this really makes no sense at all. “One against 100 in 2026. Buddy Vedder and candidate are rapping. Really. 😂😂😂😂 Caroline Tensen and co have completely lost their way. 😳”

She receives support from viewers who complain about

Intermezzos

Also viewer The is not amused. “What a disastrous idea, those videos with Buddy Vedder. It slows things down. And then there’s Gaston and the Postcode Lottery. If I couldn’t fast forward, I wouldn’t watch.”

And finally, a certain Girbe: “A rapping Buddy Vedder on One against 100. Who the hell is watching this…? 🙄🙄 Have I missed anything else on TV?”
