The BTS comeback trailer is here. And you can find out what you can take away from it here.

2026 is the big year for the BTS Army. In January, BTS announced their big comeback – the South Korean K-pop band was really active before that in 2022. After that, all seven singers in the group had to interrupt their careers to complete a mandatory 18-month military service in their home country. However, this is now over and the comeback is imminent. The new album “Arirang” will be released on March 20th. With this, the band will go on a large-scale world tour – among other things, BTS will perform at two concerts on July 11th and 12th at Munich’s Allianz Arena. Before that, the album will be presented in a comeback show on March 21st, the gig will be broadcast live on Netflix. Now the first trailer can be seen.

XL live special on Netflix

On Thursday, March 5th, 2026, Netflix released the first trailer for the BTS live special coming up on March 21st, 2026. This is a concert broadcast in which the seven members Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jung Kook will present the new album “Arirang” for the first time.

The event will be broadcast from Gwanghwamun Square in the South Korean capital Seoul from 12 p.m. German time. For BTS fans, March 21, 2026 is likely to be one of the most important dates of the year. There will also be a documentary about the band on March 27, 2026.

The trailer’s motto is “Seven together. We can do anything.” At the beginning of the clip, voices from fans can be heard commenting on the band’s announced break in 2022. For many this was a catastrophe. A voiceover can be heard saying: “A part of my soul just died.” All seven band members are introduced later and fans are prepared for BTS’s “homecoming”.

Five takeaways from the BTS trailer

1. All seven band members are there

The band has always shown itself to be united in the past and symbolized a strong cohesion. However, at past concerts not all seven singers were always on stage. The reasons for this were mostly health-related, such as in late 2020 and early 2021 when Suga missed some appearances due to shoulder surgery. Fans have had to do without their favorites a few times. For the live event on March 21, 2026, one thing is clear: all seven will be there.

2. Korean as the main language

Although BTS often release songs in English, they mainly write their tracks in their native language, Korean. This can also be expected as the main language in their new album and the live presentation. In addition to English, mainly Korean was spoken in the trailer. In addition, in a press release announcing the new album “Arirang”, it was already announced that its name was inspired by a traditional Korean folk song. So fans should prepare for an authentic experience that will celebrate Korean culture.

3. First Korean live event on Netflix

Netflix has been known for broadcasting live events for several years. For example, the boxing matches between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson or Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua became huge media events on the streaming platform. However, these always took place on American soil and also had a strong American influence. The BTS event will be the first-ever Korean mega-thing to be streamed on Netflix and is expected to generate global attention.

4. Even stronger solidarity with fans planned

After the reactions of the partly broken fans to the band’s break were taken up at the beginning of the trailer, the voices of the band members can be heard. One says: “Let’s get back out there, I miss her.” Another: “We promised our fans we would come back.” The group now seems to be keeping this promise on a large scale.

5. Is a Netflix streaming record on the horizon?

One thing becomes clear after watching the trailer: the BTS live event is going to be huge. This is a large-scale spectacle with millions of fans worldwide expected to tune in. In the past, the BTS Army has always been reliable – there was a big rush for everything the band announced. It is therefore not unlikely that the show will enter the streaming platform’s history books as the most streamed Netflix live event on March 21, 2026.
