On Saturday, May 9, several businesses in Bruges received an unexpected visit from the Bruges Police and several inspection services. The aim was to check whether traders respect labor regulations, social laws and food safety regulations. The police supported the Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain (FAVV), National Social Security Office (RSZ), National Employment Office (RVA), FPS Finance, FPS Public Health and the TSW Labor Inspectorate.
Lots of violations
This time, the inspection teams visited businesses in Kuipersstraat, Vlamingstraat, Moerkerkse Steenweg, Stationsplein, H.Brugmanstraat, Steenstraat, Noordzandstraat and, as with the previous action at the end of April, again in Smedenstraat, Philipstockstraat, and St-Pieterszuidstraat.
The inspection proved necessary again because a lot of infringements were counted. Of the 15 cases checked, only 1 case turned out to be completely in order. The FASFC also immediately closed 1 restaurant due to serious hygiene violations.
