Bruges installed the first charging station, requested by residents

There are already 4234 publicly accessible charging points for electric vehicles in West Flanders. And the number is growing fast. But if you cannot charge at home, or there is no post nearby, you can submit a request to have one installed. It will then come to a maximum of 250 meters from your house. Whoever requests such a pole does not have to pay anything for the installation itself. (continue reading below the photo)

A thousand such piles have already been requested throughout Flanders. In our province, the TotalEnergies group is allowed to roll out the network. Flanders wants to have 35,000 charging points by 2025. In the long term, fast charging stations must be installed every 25 kilometers along motorways and major regional roads.

Flanders has meanwhile launched a campaign to inform residents and businesses about the possibility of applying for such a charging station.
