Britons want to violate Brexit agreements on Northern Ireland, EU threatens legal action

A proposal by the UK government to allow its ministers to unilaterally revoke certain parts of the Northern Ireland protocol is causing nervousness in the UK and in the EU. Irish Prime Minister Michael Martin said the proposal undermines confidence in London. If the British government perseveres and changes the agreements unilaterally, it must fear legal action, says responsible European Commissioner Maros Sefcovic.
