Britney Spears on memoir: “Volume 2 will be released next year”

“Get ready,” Spears said in an Instagram post, which she then deleted.

In her memoir “The Woman In Me,” Britney Spears reveals some details about her life as a pop star and her time behind the scenes. From her relationship with Justin Timberlake to her 13-year guardianship. But apparently the singer has more options in store. In a now-deleted Instagram post, Spears announced that the second part of her memoirs will be published in 2024.

“Humor is the cure for everything!!! Continue to play!!! Volume 2 will be released next year… get ready!!!,” the musician is said to have announced in her social media post on October 28th. The autobiography, which was published on October 24th, is – according to the singer – already “the best-selling celebrity memoir in history”. The accompanying audio book, narrated by actress Michelle Williams, is currently at the top of the Amazon bestsellers. The hardback edition follows in second place. Whether Spears – given its success – registered a second part prematurely and without consultation or whether the sequel is actually planned for 2024 remains unclear at the moment and has not been officially confirmed.

Either way, the current biography has already provided some inside information into Spears’ life. The revelations include an unwanted pregnancy with her then-boyfriend and *NSYNC member Justin Timberlake, which she ended with an abortion. At the time she was 17 and he was 18 and both were at the beginning of promising careers. Regarding Timberlake’s boy band, the singer also says that they tried to adapt more to the style of black artists. “They were white boys, but they loved hip-hop,” Spears writes in her biography. “*NSYNC hung out with Black artists. Sometimes I thought they were trying too hard to fit in.”

However, with her disclosures, the pop star seems to have stepped on the toes of some of the people mentioned. “The goal of my book was not to offend anyone, absolutely not!!!,” Spears wrote in an Instagram post on Friday (October 27). “That was me back then…that’s in the past!!! I don’t like some of the headlines I read…that’s exactly why I got out of the music business four years ago!!! “Most of the book is from 20 years ago… I’ve evolved and it’s a nice new beginning from here!!!,” the singer continued.
