Student Sadie (22) knew she had to be wary of scammers when she looked for a room in Utrecht from her hometown of London. But she had not foreseen that the nice, relaxed ‘landlord’ with whom she had contact via Facebook would cheat her 2000 euros for a room that does not exist at all.
