The singer received a total of six awards at the awards ceremony in London.
At the 44th BRIT Awards on Saturday, March 2nd, British singer Raye took home six awards. In doing so, she set a new record and even surpassed the previous record holders Harry Styles, Adele and Blur, each with four trophies on one award evening.
Raye won in six categories
Raye won awards for Best Album (for MY 21ST CENTURY BLUES), Best Song (for “Escapism”), Best Female Artist, Best New Artist and Best R&B Artist. . She also became the first woman in the history of the BRIT Awards to receive a pre-ceremony “Songwriter of the Year” honor.
During her final acceptance speech, the musician brought her grandmother onto the stage and tearfully announced: “You have no idea what this means to me.”

The 26-year-old has written songs for many successful artists in the past, including Beyoncé and John Legend. She separated from her label Polydor Records in 2021 after it repeatedly refused to allow her to release her own album and has been releasing music as an independent artist ever since.

Singer SZA received the award for “Best International Artist”. And Miley Cyrus’ hit “Flowers” was named Best International Song. Boygenius also won in the “Best International Band” category.
