The renowned BRIT Awards were presented in London on Saturday. The big winner of the evening was Harry Styles. He won awards in all four categories in which he was nominated: Best Artist of the Year, Best Album of the Year (for HARRY’S HOUSE), Best Song (for As It Was), and Best Pop/ R&B Act”.

In his acceptance speech, Styles explained that the evening was very special for him and that he was proud to be a British artist “in the world out there”. He also emphasized that he was very aware of his privilege – and thus indirectly clarified part of his acceptance speech at the Grammys 2023, for which he received criticism. There he also won several prizes and found there: “Something like this doesn’t happen very often to people like me”. He dedicated his BRIT Awards win to singers Rina Sawayama, Charli XCX, Florence Welch, Mabel and Becky Hill.

Beyoncé, who was a big winner at the Grammys alongside Styles, also won two awards at the BRIT Awards but didn’t appear in person. The indie rock band Wet Leg, also honored at the Grammys, like Styles, was nominated in four categories and won two of them.
