The rumor comes from a new biography of Lesley-Ann Jones, which says that Mercury was a child in 1976 after an affair with the wife of a good friend. The now adult woman claims to have DNA certificate and says that Mercury left her personal diaries.
New book: ‘Freddie Mercury had secret daughter’
The biography, which will be released in September, contains a handwritten letter from the woman claiming to be the singer’s daughter. “Freddie Mercury was and is my father. We had a very close and loving relationship from the moment I was born and during the last fifteen years of his life,” she writes in her letter. “Those who were aware of my existence kept his biggest secret from loyalty to Freddie.”
Dobson does not believe the story. “If she exists: let them report. But maybe this is just such a made -up story.”
Mercury died in 1991 from the effects of AIDS. The singer had relationships with both men and women. One of his most meaningful relationships was with Mary Austin, to whom he also gave a large part of his legacy.
