As of: December 27, 2023 3:20 p.m

Ramona Hofmeister is the measure of all things this season: three races, three victories – the Bischofswiesen native has not been beaten so far this winter. In the BR24Sport exclusive interview, the 27-year-old reveals her recipe for success.

Shortly before Christmas, Ramona Hofmeister was celebrating again: The 27-year-old won the parallel slalom in Davos and thus also the third race this winter. Before the pre-Christmas success in Switzerland, Hofmeister had already won the parallel giant slalom in Carezza and Cortina d’Ampezzo. She confidently leads the overall World Cup.

Perfect start to the season thanks to good preparation

The three-time overall World Cup winner and Olympic bronze medalist from 2018 now has 18 World Cup victories. “You couldn’t wish for a better start to the season like this,” said Hofmeister in an exclusive interview with BR24Sport. “But the preparation was really good – everything worked really well in the weight room.”

The success in the parallel slalom is something special for the 27-year-old: “I looked specifically – my last slalom victory was in 2020.” So far, Hofmeister has been particularly successful in the parallel giant slalom. “Slalom used to be my favorite discipline, which then changed to giant slalom. But now I have shown that I can be at the top in slalom again.”

With “will to win and routine” at the start

In an interview with BR24Sport, she also reveals her recipe for success: “The will to win is there. I’m up there and have my routine. I can even laugh at the start – I don’t know if you see that every now and then. And I have one good team that has my back.”
