The BR Volleys suffered their first small setback on the third matchday of the Bundesliga.

The German champion won the Herrsching volleys on Monday in Munich 3-2 (25:19, 22:25, 25:16, 17:25, 15:12), but had to give up a point for the first time because of the two lost sets . Marek Sotola ended up converting the third match point.

Less than 48 hours after the 3-2 cup win at VfB Friedrichshafen, setter Johannes Tille’s serves in the final phase of the first round gave the guests a 1-0 lead in the set. In the second period, however, the Berliners temporarily lost their rhythm after taking a 16:14 lead.

Captain Ruben Schott’s team seemed to have recovered quickly from losing the set, but then had an embarrassing 0:11 point series in the fourth set when the score was 16:13 when Herrsching’s Filip John served. In the tiebreak, the capital club then proved its nerve.

Even before the game, the BR Volleys had reason to be happy. In the draw for the cup quarter-finals, they were given a solvable task in the second division team Blue Volleys Gotha. The game will take place on November 19th in Gotha.
